LETS GO SUPERFLAT!!

The Japanese pop culture has been very present in our daily lives, in very comercial products related to the Manga, Jap Animation, and to famous cartoon characters that are representatives of the typical Japanese Kawaii or cuteness culture as Hello Kitty or Pokemon. This pop culture that has been a marketing niche draining millions of dollars around the world,
is not only an entertain
ment but a way to escape
the problems of an industrial, highly compete¡itive and stressful society.
This post-war culture has been highly influenced by the American pop culture, which makes it a hybrid that is sometimes critized by the Japanese themselves and described as the expression of "The shallow emptiness of Japanese consumer culture". These are Murakami's own words used to describe his "Superflat"movement, that is a postmodern art movement based on the plane without perspective culture and the lack of emotional depth in the contemporary society.

But do you recognize this bag? Well yes this the LV famous multicolor bag designed by Murakami himself for LV, as they both support the Superflat culture, why not while the alliance seems to be adapted to the luxury mass culture and the result is very lucrative!! A sea artist to discover: Vincent Prieur

"I am a pinseyeur. I first pick up driftwood but also find some unexpected objects."

"Stripped of its dross, often rot-proof and impregnated with a subtle smell of sea perfumes, the flotsam provokes my imagination...Far from being a dead residue, it can be a bringer of life ... "

"My approach is poetic, instinctive and genuine, from raw materials for the most part from the sea."

"I walk around freely, as I like ... " Vincent Prieur (Translated from French)

Definition of Pinseur: Originally a pinseyeur picks the driftwood on beaches for heating or furnishing. Currently, a pinseyeur is an artist who recycles these "gifts of the sea" by integrating them into his work, preferably without adding external elements to the maritime world.
